Your Humane Society at  Lake Panasoffkee Shelter

Three different ways to get to the Lake Panasoffkee shelter from The Villages, depending on where you live – and one for anyone coming up from the south.

Take 301 South through Wildwood and Coleman (you need to make a left at the light in Coleman to stay on 301) to Sumterville.  Continue straight through one light (at CR 470 EAST) and after you pass the yellow blinking light and SECO headquarters, make a right at the next light onto CR 470 WEST.  Make a left onto CR 529A (you will see a tan industrial building on the corner), follow the road around until you come to our gate.

OR

Take Morse Blvd. south; cross over SR 44, Morse Blvd. becomes CR 468.  Follow CR 468 (past Continental Country Club) until you come to the overpass over the Turnpike.  After the overpass you will see a left turn lane.  Turn left onto CR 501.  Follow CR 501 until it ends at a T-intersection.  Make a right onto CR 470.  Go past Coleman Federal Prison and several industrial sites until you get to a traffic light.  Make a left onto CR 301.  After you pass the yellow blinking light and SECO headquarters, make a right at the next light onto CR 470 West (yes, it’s 470 again.)  Make a left onto CR 529A (you will see a tan industrial building on the corner), follow the road around until you come to our gate.

OR

Take I-75 South to exit 321, CR 470, Lake Panasoffkee.  Follow CR 470 East (toward Sumterville) to CR 529A (NOT CR 529 which comes first and where Sumter County Animal Services is located.)  Make a right onto CR 529A (you will see a tan industrial building on the corner), follow the road around until you come to our gate.

It’s about half an hour by any of these routes.

FROM THE SOUTH

Take I-75 North to Exit 321, CR 475/CR470 Lake Panasoffkee.  Turn left onto CR 475 (there is a sign that says ‘to CR 470”).  Turn right onto CR 470.  Make a right onto CR 529A (you will see a tan industrial building on the corner), follow the road around until you come to our gate.

Call the shelter phone # 352-793-9117 if you get lost.
